Management Software For Smart Grid Network Products

The UnitySuite Head-End Software manages Smart Grid network products – meters, in-home devices, and network assets – allowing a single dashboard management of the entire Smart Grid infrastructure. Integrated demand response capability allows a common utility interface to demand reduction, critical peak, and other consumer pricing and demand events regardless of the specific field devices.

UnitySuite software is an integrated security and device management, data acquisition and communication management solution encompassing all key requirements to perform advanced metering, demand management, and smart grid communications. A broad and deep domain expertise has allowed Trilliant to build an end to end optimized solution made possible through a highly efficient, yet extensible, data model, unique batch processing and resource optimizing algorithms.

Leveraging best practices in usability and human factors visual design, the UnitySuite UI layer has adopted a highly successful tabbed environment to provide users a structured, intuitive, quick and powerful environment. The UnitySuite utilizes Web 2.0 AJAX and other advanced user interface technologies to deliver an enhanced user experience while minimizing the amount of data transfer between the browser and the application servers. This approach creates a rich client experience for the user, while still providing all the power of a Web-based application.

The key software components of the suite include network configuration and operations, network management, meter reading services, consumer devices management services, and demand response.  The UnitySuite software also includes a powerful Network Management System (NMS) that gives customers a variety of tools for efficient deployment and ongoing management of Trilliant’s SecureMesh Smart Grid network.

Future modules to be added include electric vehicle management services, and advanced smart grid services.  The capabilities are modular, and each area includes all of the necessary services interfaces, reporting, and functionality for each area of the utilities’ Smart Grid operations.
