The SecureMesh™ Certified AzTech In-Home Display (IHD) is an easy-to use wireless display device that allows consumers to monitor their energy usage and its associated cost. By making consumers aware of their energy consumption patterns over time, the AzTech IHD helps conserve energy, save money, raise environmental awareness, and empower utility customers to become good energy citizens. Various studies have shown that energy consumption can be reduced by as much as 15% through the use of in-home displays.

Real-Time & Historical Energy Usage Display

The SecureMesh Certified AzTech IHD is a communications device that displays the current price and energy consumption as well as past usage. The AzTech IHD communicates via the SecureMesh NAN to obtain real-time usage information from the consumer’s electric meter and other information, such as electricity rates, from the SecureMesh head-end. The unit’s LCD display features adjustable backlighting to clearly display numerical and graphical information, including the current price level and both current and historical consumption data.

Demand-Side Management

The SecureMesh Certified AzTech IHD helps a utility manage load by notifying consumers of Critical Peak Pricing events. By alerting customers to such events and providing them with real-time energy costs, the AzTech IHD empowers consumers to better understand and modify their energy consumption behavior to conserve energy and save money.

Unique Display of Current Rate Status

The unique Indicator Light Bar located on the top of the unit displays green, yellow, or red to indicate different Time-Of-Use or tiered rates, and the light moves at different speeds to reflect the current rate of energy consumption. The combination of color and motion signals immediately communicates the current pricing tier in a visually powerful way.
