Dr. Steven R. Specker Joins the Trilliant Board of Directors

Outgoing EPRI CEO Brings Utility Insights to Smart Grid Leader

Trilliant Incorporated, a leading provider of Smart Grid communication solutions that enhance energy efficiency, utility operations, and renewable resource integration, today announced the appointment of Dr. Steven R. Specker to the company Board of Directors.  The appointment is effective immediately.

Dr. Specker most recently served as President and CEO of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in Palo Alto, CA from 2004 to 2010.  Prior to leading EPRI, he founded a private consulting firm, Specker Consulting, LLC, that provided operational and strategic planning services to technology companies serving the global electric power industry.

Dr. Specker also had a distinguished 30 year career at General Electric (GE).  He served in many leadership roles at GE including as President of GE’s nuclear energy business.  Dr. Specker also served as President of GE Digital Energy, where he was responsible for the formation and start-up of a new business venture serving the growing needs of the digital economy for highly reliable electricity.

Dr. Specker holds a B.S. in engineering science and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from Iowa State University.  He also serves as a director of Southern Company.
