Biography: Andy White graduated from Bath University, UK in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1981 specializing in Power Electronics. He joined GE Mobile Radio as an engineer for Europe, Africa, and Middle East Operations based out of London. Promoted to executive in 1992 responsible for Energy Services, Asia Pacific based in Singapore, and Hong Kong, he then returned to the USA and moved through the ranks of General Manager and Senior Executive to President and CEO of several GE businesses after becoming a GE Corporate Officer in 2002. He has thirty years of experience in the Energy Industry, has served on twelve different boards and two University advisory committees, and is currently Chairman of the World Nuclear Association.


Eric Miller

Biography: Eric Miller is the senior vice president of solutions for Trilliant Incorporated, a Smart Grid communications company. Mr. Miller’s career in the energy industry spans more than twenty-five years, combining entrepreneurial, strategic, marketing, and product leadership in the areas of enterprise software, energy efficiency, customer data collection, renewable energy development, and wholesale power marketing. Prior to joining Trilliant, Mr. Miller was Vice President of Software for Itron and Vice President of Strategy for Silicon Energy. He holds a MS in Resource Systems from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College and a BA in Physics from Colorado College.

Biography: Rob Conant is the senior vice president of network products for Trilliant Incorporated, a Smart Grid communications company. Before joining Trilliant, Mr. Conant cofounded and was VP of Marketing and Business Development at Dust Networks, an innovator in wireless mesh networking technology, and the originator of the Wireless HART standard for industrial wireless mesh communications. Among his many accomplishments in his previous role at telecommunications systems provider Onix Microsystems, he invented micromirror technology establishing the company as a leader in MEMS-based fiber optic switches. Mr. Conant holds a PhD and MS in electrical engineering and a BS in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley.

Biography: Nathan Ota is Solutions Product Marketing Manager for Consumer Solutions at Trilliant. He has overall responsibility for Trilliant’s consumer offerings in including, solutions roadmap, hardware and software capabilities, customer messaging, and availability. Nathan has 8 years experience with wireless sensor networks and residential energy management, and 4 years strategic marketing and consulting experience in the wireless sensor network and energy industries. He has hands on experience with all major wireless communication technologies including ZigBee, Wi-Fi, 802.15.4, and 6LoWPAN.  Nathan holds a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley where he focused on home energy control strategies using wireless sensor networks.

Biography: Brian has nearly 20 years of experience in marketing communication networking products. Prior to Trilliant, Brian was Vice President of Marketing and Product Management with wireless companies SkyPilot Networks and AirFlow Networks and held product management and marketing positions at telecommunications companies Turnstone Systems and Ascend Communications. He holds BS degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from Duke University and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley.

Randy FreiRandy Frei

Biography: Randy has extensive experience in Internet Protocols and network communications architectures, specializing in broadband access. Prior to Trilliant, Randy was Chief Technology Officer at SkyPilot and was responsible for SkyPilot’s mesh architecture, communications protocol, and standards participation including 802.11 (Wi-Fi) and 802.16 (WiMAX). Prior to SkyPilot, Randy held positions as Chief Technology Officer at UltraDevices and Chief Systems Architect at Com21 where he was responsible for overall system architecture and next generation product design. He was also a Member of the Technical Staff at ITT Aerospace/Communications Division, responsible for battlefield dynamic wireless mesh systems. Randy holds Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees from Stevens Institute of Technology.
