RF Network Analyst

Job Location:  Concord, Ontario, Canada

JOB DESCRIPTION

The RF Network Analyst is primary responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the RF Network including the daily analysis, coordination and execution of construction and maintenance activities relating to the RF Network (Access Points, Repeaters, Endpoints and telecommunications).

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinating daily with Data Analysts and Project Managers on network performance and required maintenance
  • Ensuring superior endpoint performance and timely delivery of accurate to the end customer
  • Daily review of system reports for network/endpoint failures
  • Prioritizing, coordination, troubleshooting and performing RF maintenance activities as required
  • Perform RF Test Bench analysis/repairs
  • Maintain daily/weekly/monthly maintenance log (Performance Metrics Update)
  • Remote and/or on-site repairs as well as preventative and reactive maintenance
  • Ensuring network optimization, including the moving/removing of network hardware as required, the installation/repair of antennae and network upgrades
  • Testing and operating RF power meters, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and oscillator measurements (phase noise, spurious, stability, jitter)
  • Provide technical support for new equipment being installed on-site
  • You may be required to perform on-call duties, when assigned, to support network maintenance during off-hours, which could include nights, weekends and holidays
  • Willingness to travel within area of responsibility is a must

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years in RF testing or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of principles and theory of basic electronics
  • Experience with 1X and GSM Radios required
  • Experience with 802.15.4 2.4 GHz Radio a plus
  • Windows and MS office, including Word, Excel (especially the statistical features)
  • Experience with design software (AUTOCAD or OrCAD)

 

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in related field (Telecommunications, Electronics, Electronics testing)
