Trilliant is a fast-growing Silicon Valley company providing end-to-end wireless solutions to utilities worldwide. Using advanced wireless networking technologies, Trilliant brings utilities into the cleantec/smartgrid future. Trilliant is currently hiring an AMI Product Manager, who will report to the Director, AMI Hardware Product Management. The AMI Product Manager will lead the product management of a subset of Trilliant’s AMI hardware products, including wireless mesh-enabled premise equipment; wireless mesh-enabled gas, water, and electricity meters; and network modules and tools. The Product Manager will be expected to work closely with Trilliant’s engineering and operations teams and OEM suppliers to design and build these products and to provide compelling product marketing material to the Trilliant sales team.
Essential Functions
- Manage the entire product lifecycle, from strategic planning to tactical activities, for his/her Trilliant products:
- Develop Market Requirement Definition and Product Requirement Definition documents for specific AMI hardware products.
- Engage with customers and experts inside and outside the Company to formulate compelling product roadmaps, value propositions, and product business cases.
- Develop or help develop accurate product documentation, tech notes, white papers, product presentations, and sales docs.
- Help manage and troubleshoot engineering, manufacturing, and customer deployment issues as they arise.
- Work with the engineering team to deliver quality products on time and within budget.
- Contribute to building strong company-wide product management processes.
- Help to establish Trilliant’s AMI hardware product strategy and product roadmap.
- Develop competitive analyses.
- Become the Company’s product expert for his/her designated AMI hardware products.
- Work with the marketing, sales, and business development teams to respond to RFPs.
Position Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work well with customers and peers in engineering, manufacturing, and marketing.
- Demonstrated success in defining and launching excellent products.
- Six+ years of experience in technical, marketing, and/or product management roles, especially in startup technology companies.
- Engineering background required, MBA preferred.
- Experience with wireless, networking, and commercial or industrial products.
- Experience in the energy, industrial, or utility market preferred.
